Job Summary
Lionheart is seeking a 1-year full-time Outreach Navigator to develop and implement community outreach strategies, assess regional adolescent mental health needs, and build foundational community relationships that support informed decision-making and service delivery for potential Lionheart Foundation program expansion within the Southern Alberta region.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with strong knowledge of the service delivery landscape within southern Alberta. They will be able to navigate complex relationships and identify and engage potential partners. They will be skilled at research, a strong writer and public speaker, with the capacity to work successfully in a remote office. They are an ambitious, detail-oriented self-starter with demonstrated expertise in community development and health promotion. They will work effectively in a remote home environment and be required to make regular trips to Calgary.
Job Profile:
- Review, validate, and strengthen previously developed community asset map and needs assessment to support a greater understanding of the mental health service landscape in the High River, Claresholm and Vulcan areas.
- Develop an outreach plan, with particular emphasis on: schools and school divisions, youth hubs, existing mental health services (both clinical and non-clinical), and private therapists geographically located in target communities.
- Introduce Lionheart, its service model and service differentiators using an approach that communicates collaboration, identification of existing strengths in the area, and opportunities for mutual support/benefit.
- Work closely with the Executive Director as needed, particularly to establish key relationships and develop a favourable image of Lionheart Foundation within communities.
- Track outreach activities and results, including contacts, insights gained, strategic opportunities, and any next steps.
- Produce internal reports to support Lionheart decision-making, including recommendations related to service expansion, service nuances and key considerations.
- Support the development of grant applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
A demonstrated background in developing and implementing community development and outreach strategies
Knowledge of Southern Alberta communities or the regional mental health ecosystem would be an asset.
Strong analytical skills to systematically identify assets, strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
Proven ability to build trust and foster partnerships with diverse groups and organizations.
Willingness to travel and ability to perform in-person outreach across the region.
Willingness to attend regular meetings in Calgary and potentially Edmonton
An ability to be accountable and work with tight deadlines.
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Able to represent Lionheart’s mission, vision and values to the community
Able to work collaboratively in a remote/hybrid team environment
This position is a flexible 1-year, full-time position with benefits and paid vacation. The successful candidate will be required to work remotely and submit a vulnerable sector check.
