Reporting to the Director, Learning and Change Management, the Manager, Training role is responsible for developing and implementing a training plan for the organization that includes all aspects from creation and delivery to tracking and monitoring. This individual will work with the business to determine training gaps and manage those within the administration and training delivery groups to close them. Works in conjunction with the Branch Operations, manufacturers and customers as required to promote the technical ability of the company and markets these services as needed.
Responsible for leading and recommending the activities of the Training department, ensuring alignment with the objectives and directives of the Director, Learning and Change Management and SMS senior management.
Drives future programs and maximizes the Training department’s performance as it relates to safety, human resources, best practices, environmental compliance, quality assurance, cost reduction, workflow, productivity, and profitability.
Ensures effective delivery of training and support service to all levels of internal and external customers.
Develops, mentors, motivates, focuses, trains, and retains competent training team.
Works closely with factory and OEM personnel to establish a close working relationship and to ensure SMS is meeting and/or exceeding factory and OEM expectations.
In consultation with business and OEM stakeholders creates a training plan that will deliver technical and safety training to support new and existing employees.
Participates in the development of the appropriate systems to manage the data requirements of training course records, evaluation of competence and other related items.
Ability to lead in a diverse environment with a significant focus on client and customer relations
Excellent oral and written skills.
Strength and competence in impacting and influencing for resources and outcomes
Preference given to 8-10 years of experience within the mining/industrial industry
Strong Microsoft 365 Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with full suite of Microsoft Office 365 programs including MS Project
Experience with Learning Management Software (Absorb preferred)
