Delta Hotels by Marriott Halifax Downtown is in the heart of the city, and we're looking for a Part-Time Hourly HR Operations Coordinator to join our Human Capital team.
In this hourly, part-time role, you'll provide essential support across learning compliance, recruitment, onboarding, systems administration, event coordination, and office operations.
Position Details
- Title: HR Operations Coordinator (Hourly)
- Property: Delta Hotels by Marriott Halifax Downtown
- Position Type: Part-time, Hourly
- Weekly Hours: 16 hours per week (with potential to increase to 24 hours during certain weeks)
- Fixed-term Contract: 6-month (with chance to extend)
- Reporting To: Manager, Human Capital (HR)
- Schedule: Needs regular weekly availability (preferably Mondays and Fridays)

What You'll Do
Learning & Compliance
- Audit and follow up on hospitality compliance certificates
- Complete all administrative tasks around compliance training
- Follow up and track progress on Marriott's DLZ learning platform
Marriott Systems Support
- Complete all administrative work around EID and Identity Shoppe
- Provide admin support in DLZ (learning system)
- Create and follow up on Marriott Service Desk queries until issues are resolved
Onboarding
- Support facilitation of New Hire Orientation sessions
- Prepare new hire welcome packages
Recruitment Coordination
- Support full-cycle recruitment coordination for hourly hiring campaigns
- Update job advertisements
- Post jobs and conduct initial shortlisting
- Perform phone screening calls
- Conduct background checks and reference checks
- Prepare hourly offer letters and offer packages
Administration & Office Support
- Maintain office stock and supplies
- Support event planning and coordination for associate events
- Serve as secretary for OH&S and Green Initiatives Committee

What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, HR Management, or a related field
- Co-op experience or 1+ year of experience in HR, recruitment, administration, or hospitality management
- Experience with Marriott systems (DLZ, MGS, Identity Shop) in an HR, admin, or recruitment capacity is a strong asset
