What Does a Buyer do?

Buyers are responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet customer order requirements, and maintain stock inventory level within approved guidelines.

This role is located at Grimco Toronto Corporate and is scheduled Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the set up and data review of the automatic purchasing order system and for daily reviewing of assigned vendors and warehouse reorder reports for up to 7 regional warehouses located in Canada.
Creates purchase orders and warehouse transfers between branches.
Analyzes aged inventory and works with vendors and/or sales to reduce excess stock.
Ensures company fill rate targets are achieved and maintained.
Create and/or update various reports in order to analyze inventory trends using MS Excel and Infor Cloudsuite Distribution Enterprise.
Interface with sales departments regarding any product availability challenges for assigned vendor product lines.
Interface with shipping, receiving, and inventory control contact at branches to share information regarding orders, transfers, products, and vendors as required on a timely basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
0>3 years Purchasing, Procurement, or Administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.
Completed Post-Secondary degree or equivalent diploma from an accredited college/university (final semester applicants welcome).
Computer literate – MS Office Suite, Internet navigation, and order entry experience.
Confidence and positive attitude are a MUST! Goal-oriented and competitive.
Superior interpersonal skills – able to communicate effectively at all levels.
Ability to work hard and smart – never satisfied with the status quo.
Ability to take direction and to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and true commitment to customers.

Strong Preference For:
Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent Diploma with Major/Concentration in an area of Supply Chain/Logistics/Business or related field.
Top of the class graduates.
Infor CloudSuite Enterprise data management system experience; CRM database experience.
Advanced/fluent skill levels in French are always a plus.

Majority of time training is focused on: purchasing, operational procedures & policies, ERP systems, products, sales, safety, accounting, human resources and reports.
Split between break-out session and hands-on learning environment.
Rotation within departments for a diverse look at how employees approach tasks and achieve goals.
Full-time salary includes training period.
Travel accommodations and expenses provided per Grimco Canada Travel & Expense Policy. Training location determined by corporate/regional training team schedule.
