A brand imagines a rigid box with a magnetic closure, a soft-touch laminate, and a hinged lid that lands with a satisfying snap. A manufacturing partner twelve time zones away has to quote it, sample it, produce it, and deliver it — on time, on spec, and on margin. Everything PakFactory promises lives in the distance between those two sentences, and the supply chain team is what closes it.
Five supply chain specialists run that engine today: RFQs and quoting, sourcing, vendor management, order tracking and logistics, issue and case resolution, and the daily support that lets our sales team promise with confidence. This seat is built to lead them — and at PakFactory, leadership is earned, not assigned. You’ll start inside the engine, mastering every station of it, and as you demonstrate command, the team follows. The destination: full ownership of the throughput, reliability, and standards of the operational core of our platform — the team every order runs through and every customer depends on, whether they know it or not.
We are a tight team on a deliberate path from a design-led service business to a packaging platform at scale. The supply chain you build is the infrastructure that path runs on.
About PakFactory
PakFactory is a cloud-based custom packaging platform headquartered in Markham, Ontario, serving brands across North America through a vetted global manufacturing network. We specialize in the structurally complex work most suppliers turn away — rigid boxes, hinged closures, magnetic snaps, premium finishes — and we are building the platform that makes that complexity feel effortless to the customer.
What you’ll own
- The RFQ & quoting engine — Own the speed, accuracy, and margin integrity of every quote that leaves the building. Match each project to the manufacturing partner best equipped to produce it — structurally, economically, and on the clock.
- Sourcing & vendor management — Deepen and expand our manufacturing partner network. Negotiate pricing and lead times, qualify new partners against real structural capability, and hold every partner to the quality and reliability standards our brand promises.
- Order flow & logistics — End-to-end visibility from purchase order to doorstep: production milestones, QC checkpoints, freight, customs, and final delivery. When a customer asks where their order is, your team already knows.
- Issues & cases — Own the escalation path when production goes sideways. Resolve fast and fairly, then trace every recurring issue back to its root and fix the process so it doesn’t come back.
- Sales support — Keep the sales team armed: fast feasibility answers, quotes they can win with, and delivery commitments customers can plan a launch around.
- Process & metrics — Codify how the team works and instrument it with numbers — quote turnaround, on-time delivery, defect and claim rates, margin retention. What gets measured gets faster.
- Team leadership — The destination of this seat: coaching, developing, and running the operating rhythm for five supply chain specialists. You earn it by mastering everything above — and once you do, you set the standard, clear the blockers, and build a team that gets faster and sharper every quarter.
How leadership is earned here
You won’t inherit the team on day one — you’ll win it. First, master the engine: take quotes end to end, run cases, sit in the vendor calls, and learn every station the specialists run. Then codify it — the processes, the metrics, the standards that make the whole team faster. Leadership authority phases in as you demonstrate command, and the timeline is yours to compress: the faster you prove it, the faster the team is yours.
Who you are
- You bring 5+ years in supply chain, sourcing, or manufacturing operations. You may have led teams formally or led from the middle — either way, people follow you because you’re right, you’re fair, and you deliver.
- You’ve sourced from manufacturers and negotiated with them directly — pricing, lead times, quality standards, and the moments when a partner needs to hear no.
- You’ve worked with China-based suppliers and you’re fluent in the rhythm of it: time zones, production calendars, relationships, and the follow-up cadence that keeps a factory floor honest from six thousand miles away.
- You’re proficient in Cantonese or Mandarin and can work with our manufacturing partners directly, in their language.
- You’re calm at the center of an escalation. Customers, specialists, and vendors all leave conversations with you knowing exactly what happens next.
- You think in systems. A one-off fix bothers you; a process that makes the fix unnecessary is the actual win.
- You write clearly and fast. Most of this role’s leverage moves through email, chat, and documentation — across languages and time zones.
