Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Egg Operation Farmhand to join our agricultural team. This role involves supporting daily farm operations focused on egg production, maintaining barn cleanliness, and ensuring the health and safety of the poultry environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with daily care and management of poultry, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health.
- Operate and maintain feed dispensers, and egg collection equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on irrigation systems, and other barn infrastructure.
- Use hand tools and power tools for repairs and minor construction tasks around the farm.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operation and safety standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or poultry-related materials as needed.
- Support horticultural activities related to farm landscaping
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, and poultry health observations.
- Follow safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
Skills
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools
- Basic math skills for inventory management and measurement tasks.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and extended periods of standing or working outdoors.
- Strong attention to detail in monitoring poultry health and maintaining equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
