The Lawnfather is seeking a skilled and reliable Landscaping & Skid Steer Operator with a minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape construction and equipment operation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building retaining walls, installing paving stones, grading, concrete work, and completing a variety of residential and commercial landscaping projects.
This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers and other landscape construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform site preparation, excavation, grading, and final landscaping work.
- Install retaining walls, paving stones, patios, walkways, and hardscape features.
- Assist with concrete forming, pouring, and finishing.
- Read and interpret landscape plans and construction drawings.
- Ensure projects are completed according to specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain equipment and perform daily inspections.
- Work collaboratively with crew members and project managers.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of landscape construction experience.
- Minimum 3 years of skid steer operating experience.
- Proven experience with:
- Retaining wall installation
- Paving stone installation
- Site grading and drainage
- Sod installation
- Artificial turf
- Concrete work
- Landscape construction
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating mini excavators, loaders, or other heavy equipment.
- Experience leading crews or managing projects.
- Landscape Industry Certified credentials are an asset.
