About Us
Tortoise & Hare (T&H) is a state-of-the-art restaurant located within Central Park Athletics (CPA), Southwestern Ontario's largest and most progressive sports and recreation facility.
What You'll Do
- Prep and cook menu items to recipe, portion, and presentation standards
- Set up, restock, and break down your station each shift
- Prepare dishes safely for guests with allergies and intolerances, following our allergen procedures
- Keep your station, equipment, coolers, and storage areas clean and organized to food safety standards
- Work with the rest of the kitchen and facility team to keep service moving through peak periods
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience in a restaurant, catering, or other high-volume kitchen
- Working knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and portion control
- Reliable attendance and clear, respectful communication with teammates
- Available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Standing for extended periods and lifting kitchen supplies weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Food Handler Certificate completed prior to your first shift — it's a free online course through Windsor-Essex County Health Unit plus a $10 exam; we'll help you get it scheduled before your start date.
- Complete health and safety training prior to your first shift and on an ongoing basis (provided by us)
- A Criminal Record Check is required before your first shift, at your own cost. We reimburse the fee once you’ve completed 90 calendar days of employment with us.
- Adhere to the no-smoking or vaping policy on T&H/CPA property
