This Assurance Associate opportunity is with an established Toronto CPA firm where you’ll get a much broader view.
You’ll work across audit, review and other assurance engagements for a varied client base, gaining exposure to different businesses, industries and accounting issues while working closely with experienced Managers and Partners.

What you’ll be doing:
- Assist with audit and review engagements from planning through completion
- Prepare working papers and supporting documentation
- Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures
- Assist with risk assessment and audit planning
- Prepare sections of financial statements and related disclosures
- Work with clients to obtain information and resolve outstanding items
- Assist with year-end adjusting entries and accounting issues
- Gain exposure to ASPE and accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations
- Work across clients in industries including construction, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, real estate, retail and professional services
- Support senior team members on more complex assurance matters
- Assist with compilation and accounting engagements where required
- Gain exposure to corporate tax and broader advisory work as your experience develops
- Build direct client relationships as you progress within the firm
What they’re looking for:
- 2+ years of Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience
- Previous audit or review engagement experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA PEP student, CPA candidate or planning to pursue the CPA designation
- Understanding of Canadian accounting and assurance standards
- Exposure to ASPE
- ASNPO experience would be an asset
- Experience preparing working papers and financial statements
- Comfortable communicating directly with clients
- Strong attention to detail
- Someone looking to develop broad assurance experience rather than being confined to one type of client
- Applicants must have previous CPA firm/public accounting experience
