This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join the interdisciplinary teams working within the Emotional Regulation Care Pathway. As a member of the outpatient interdisciplinary team, the Mental Health Therapist (MHT) is primarily responsible for direct clinical service in the area(s) of screening, assessment, and treatment utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through group and individual interventions. Working collaboratively and utilizing evidence based practice, you will provide advanced assessment and treatment to adults experiencing complex mental health needs and/or concurrent disorders within an outpatient setting. The MHT ensures that clinical services are delivered safely, are of high quality, and align with the Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care for clients, families, and community partners. As such you will be able to implement a wide range of DBT and CBT treatment interventions and develop collaborative comprehensive recovery/treatment plans, monitor progress and update care plans based on client outcomes, team recommendations, and goal attainment.
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Completion of one of the following programs: master's degree in Psychology; master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs: Master's degree in Psychology. Master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Master's degree in Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Current registration with the appropriate professional college or association. Current BCLS-HCP.
Extensive training and experience in DBT required to be successful in the MHT role. Considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years addiction and mental health experience.
