Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Appraiser / Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, working closely with insurance partners and technicians, and providing customers with exceptional service throughout the repair process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, customer-focused, and knowledgeable about automotive repair and insurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and accurately assess collision-related damage
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates and repair orders
- Communicate regularly with insurance companies regarding vehicle status, estimates, supplements, and repairs
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the repair process
- Provide customers with clear explanations, repair updates, timelines, and exceptional service
- Work closely with technicians to ensure accurate damage assessments and repair plans
- Maintain current knowledge of automotive repair procedures, industry standards, and insurance requirements
- Address and resolve customer questions or concerns in a professional manner
- Identify and recommend additional services when appropriate
- Support the team in maintaining an efficient and positive customer experience
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as an Automotive Appraiser, Estimator, or similar position
- Experience using Mitchell and/or Audatex estimating software
- Knowledge of insurance DRP (Direct Repair Program) processes and guidelines
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive repair procedures
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Mitchell RepairCenter is considered an asset
- Dealership or collision repair experience is an asset
- Sales and upselling experience is an asset
- Comfortable handling cash transactions when required
