Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sloped Roofing & Exterior Service Technician to join our team.
This position is responsible for performing quality control inspections, diagnosing roofing and exterior issues, completing minor repairs, conducting condition assessments, and documenting findings for homeowners, project managers, and estimators.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in the field inspecting completed projects, assessing service requests, identifying deficiencies, and performing repairs on roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, and eavestrough systems as required.
This role is ideal for an experienced roofing or exterior professional who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and interacting directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections on completed roofing and exterior projects
- Diagnose roof leaks, siding issues, and other exterior building deficiencies
- Complete minor roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, and eavestrough repairs
- Conduct condition assessments and document existing conditions
- Take measurements, photographs, and detailed notes during site visits
- Prepare clear inspection reports outlining findings and recommendations
- Meet with homeowners and customers to discuss concerns and explain findings
- Identify warranty-related issues and assist with warranty service work
- Support project managers and estimators by providing accurate field information
- Maintain accurate records using company software and mobile applications
- Represent Jayson Global Roofing professionally on all job sites
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in roofing & exterior services
- Strong knowledge of asphalt shingles and residential roofing systems
- Experience diagnosing leaks and identifying installation or maintenance deficiencies
- Ability to safely perform roofing repairs and service work
- Knowledge of siding, soffit, fascia, and eavestrough systems
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Comfortable working independently and managing daily schedules
- Proficient with smartphones, tablets, and basic computer applications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to climb ladders and work safely at heights
- Fall Protection, CSTS, and First Aid certifications are considered assets
Travel Requirements
This position is based out of our Calgary office; however, regular travel to Edmonton and surrounding areas is required.
The successful candidate must be comfortable travelling between Calgary and Edmonton for inspections, service work, meetings, training, and project support. Occasional overnight stays will be required depending on workload and project needs.
