Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
Must currently reside in Kamloops, BC
(applications from outside the area will not be considered; no exceptions for relocation)
Clean, non-restricted driver’s abstract
5–10 years of relevant experience
Manual and hydraulic neck experience
Experience with 7, 8, 9, and 10 axle configurations
Knowledge of safe equipment loading and unloading procedures
Experience loading, securing, and transporting heavy equipment safely and efficiently
Knowledge of legal weights and dimensions
Mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach to equipment care and maintenance
Must be able to take direction well and follow instructions accurately
Reliable, punctual, safety-oriented, and able to work independently
Strong attention to detail and strong work ethic
About the Role
Cobra Heavy Iron Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated Lowbed Driver to join our Kamloops-based team.
This position is focused on the safe and efficient hauling of heavy equipment to and from jobsites. The ideal candidate will have strong lowbed experience and be confident with manual and hydraulic neck operations, proper securement, and hauling with 7, 8, 9, and 10 axle configurations.
Applicants should have strong hands-on experience loading, unloading, and transporting heavy equipment safely and efficiently, along with a solid understanding of safe work practices, legal weights and dimensions, and general equipment care. A mechanical background is also important, as this role may involve daily inspections, equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and minor maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Safe and efficient operation of company lowbed truck and trailer units
Loading, unloading, securing, and transporting heavy equipment safely and efficiently
Operating manual and hydraulic neck lowbeds
Hauling with 7, 8, 9, and 10 axle configurations
Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Conducting basic mechanical troubleshooting and routine maintenance
Ensuring loads are secured correctly and transported in compliance with applicable regulations
Adhering to all safety protocols and site-specific procedures
Communicating effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and site personnel
Taking direction well and working efficiently as part of a team
Assets (Not Required)
Experience working in utility or civil construction environments
Experience working around multiple crews and active jobsites
Heavy equipment operating experience
Dump truck experience

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
