Job Description:
The Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) Team at Sunlife is seeking for a Student, Cloud Engineer who can work with a skilled team of Cloud Engineers and help deliver better & efficient cloud platform solutions to our consumers. This is a great opportunity to work with a highly skilled team of Cloud Engineers and work with them in ongoing Engineering initiatives with our partner stakeholder group and help our consumers to onboard to Cloud.
Term Length: 4-months (January - April 2025)
What will you do?
Closely work with Cloud Engineers, Product Managers and other stakeholder teams to design and build infrastructure to enable Cloud Application adoption.
Support our consumers within Sunlife to get onboarded to cloud, provision environments, develop roles and build a seamless onboarding process.
Implement and Operationalize new Cloud Services.
Assist in establishing, Standards, Patterns and best practices within AWS Cloud Offerings.
Showcase high standards of Communication and reporting within the team.
Drive forward the Cloud Infrastructure as Code roadmap.
Participate in Daily Team huddles, provide status updates, highlight issues and blockers.
Document Process and best practices.
What do you need to succeed?
Currently enrolled in university degree/college diploma in related discipline(s).
Reliability Clearance - This role requires 5 years of Canadian residency history due to the additional RCMP clearance/background check needed for this role. Exceptions will not be possible.
Excellent Communication Skills.
Problem Solver & Quick Thinker.
Analytical Mindset.
Good understanding of Cloud Services, and ability to quickly grasp issues and translate to business impact.
Technical knowledge/ Cloud Certification with one of the public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an asset.
Good knowledge with programming and/or scripting languages (Python, Perl, Java, Bash, Ruby) is an asset.
Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, or Cloud Native tools is an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
