Position Summary
The Residence Corporation is seeking a reliable and motivated Hotel Maintenance Associate to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our residence, helping to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all guests.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining facilities, and demonstrates compassion and professionalism when interacting with patients and families.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform painting and drywall repairs.
- Assist with basic furniture assembly and moving of furniture and equipment (ability to lift up to 50 lbs.).
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- HVAC unit trouble shooting
- Complete routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months.
- Perform carpet cleaning and support common area cleaning as required.
- Ensure guest suites are maintained in good condition and ready for occupancy.
- Participate in fire and emergency preparedness drills.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all personal health information and other sensitive information relating to guests and staff.
- Provide maintenance coverage during vacation periods as required (up to six weeks annually).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a hotel, multi-unit residential, healthcare, or accommodation environment.
- Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, painting, and minor carpentry repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to operate maintenance equipment and power tools safely.
- Certificate or training in General Building Maintenance or a related field is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of fire safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physical capability to perform the demands of the position, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is considered an asset.
- A current Police Background Check is required as a condition of employment.
Compensation and Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary Range: $25.446 – $27.545 per hour
