We are looking to add additional, motivated talent to join our dynamic patent team. This position provides key support to professionals, focusing on prosecution, working with domestic clients and foreign associates.
This position offers a unique opportunity for learning, autonomy, and the development in patents, supporting a senior managing associate and providing general assistance to the patent group.
Experience:
- Three to six years relevant patent working experience.
- Experience with the patent life cycle including opening new files, application preparation, filing, managing, and monitoring due dates.
- Experience billing, file management, responding to clients and/or following up with CIPO and/or USPTO.
- Proven team skills, including communication, collaboration, and cooperation with peers and professionals.
Qualifications:
- Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate or Law Clerk Degree.
- Proven ability and the desire to successfully manage a heavy workload.
- Familiarity with IP docketing and DMS software.
- Effective writing skills with a sharp eye for detail.
- Solid experience working in patent, remote and electronic environments.
- Strong working knowledge of IP software and standard MS Office software; (Word, Excel).
- Effective collaboration and cooperation skills, open to participating in team meetings and workflow discussions.
- Proactive, problem-solving skills.
- Solid time management skills, able to work on assignments from multiple professionals.
- Excellent attention to detail and work product presentation.
