Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support front desk operations, and assist with optical services. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures at the front desk
- Manage electronic medical records efficiently using systems such as od office pro
- Prepare patients for exams by obtaining medical histories and updating records accurately
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations and optical procedures
- Educate patients on eyewear options, lens choices, and sales of optical products
- Handle patient inquiries regarding appointments, insurance, and billing processes
- Support inventory management for optical supplies and office materials
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with health standards
- Provide exceptional patient care by addressing questions and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office setting or optical practice preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as od office pro is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care and general health
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics
- Experience in retail sales or sales-driven roles is a plus, especially related to eyewear products
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of optical procedures and optical experience is desirable but not required
- Ability to work well as part of a team and demonstrate professionalism at all times
