Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Lead Administrator & Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This pivotal role involves overseeing administrative operations, coordinating patient care, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our medical and dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in medical or dental office settings, and proficiency with electronic medical records systems. Duties
- Lead and supervise administrative staff, ensuring efficient daily operations within the practice
- Coordinate patient scheduling, registration, and check-in procedures with accuracy and professionalism
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or similar platforms
- Assist with billing, coding, and insurance claim processes to optimize revenue cycle management
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Oversee human resources functions including staff training, performance evaluations, and staffing schedules
- Support clinical staff by facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers
- Monitor practice budgets, supplies, and equipment to ensure operational efficiency
- Implement process improvements to enhance patient experience and administrative workflows
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology relevant to both dental and healthcare environments
Experience
- Proven experience in dental or medical office administration, preferably in a supervisory role
- Familiarity with Dentrix or other electronic medical records systems
- Background in human resources management within a healthcare setting
- Experience with billing, coding, and insurance processing is preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and confidentiality standards
- Prior experience working in hospital or acute care settings is a plus
- Nursing or clinical background with hospital experience is advantageous but not required
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a healthcare environment
