About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Recreational Therapy Aide to support the delivery of therapeutic recreation programs that enhance the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive well being of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for new graduates looking to begin their career in recreation therapy or a related healthcare field.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational and therapeutic activities.
- Support clients during individual and group programs.
- Help maintain activity supplies, equipment, and program areas.
- Document participation and report observations to the care team.
- Encourage client engagement and promote a positive, inclusive environment.
- Follow organizational policies, safety procedures, and infection control practices.
Qualifications
- Post secondary diploma or degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Previous experience in healthcare, long term care, rehabilitation, or community recreation is an asset.
