Your challenge!

Being an international operations consultant (import/export specialist) at Cascades means that you will have to advise the various stakeholders on the management of the company's import and export compliance policies and procedures

Job Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the International Operations Manager, the International Operations Advisors are responsible for the complete handling of all import and/or export requests related to Cascades' operations.

In particular, you will need to:
Ensure the classification of products for import and export;
In collaboration with management, manage trade preference programs such as free trade agreements, including qualification and certification;
Provide customs brokers with a classification by part number and a description referring to it;
Identify additions to the declared value, if applicable;
Maintain record keeping in accordance with country requirements and Cascades policies;
Produce a US Proforma and/or Canadian (CCI) invoice for special shipments
Respond to all requests for information or notifications from customs, government and other agencies in a timely manner.
Review and correct, if necessary, import entries in a timely manner;
Ensure that import and export policies and procedures are up to date with the relevant regulatory agencies;
Support the company during trade compliance audits;
Monitor the jurisdiction and classification of all products for export in accordance with federal requirements and cascade policies;
Ensure compliance with the import, export authorization and licensing requirements of government agencies;

College diploma en Operations Management ou Logistics

Desired experience

At least five years of relevant experience in the areas of import, export and international trade compliance, customs clearance and international logistics.
Technical competencies

Good understanding of Incoterms, transport documentation, credit instruments and terminology used in all modes of transport;
Up-to-date in-depth knowledge of Canadian, U.S. customs regulations and other federal agencies;
Knowledge of safety compliance data elements (C-TPAT);
Practical knowledge of HTS Tariff classification;
Excellent understanding of operating policies, processes and procedures related to interactions between broker, freight forwarder and importer/exporter with CBSA/USCBP;
Experience working with an ERP system;
The designation of Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Commercial Compliance Specialist (CTCS) would be an asset.
Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word
