Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced lowbed driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and equipment, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient route management to support our operational needs. The driver will also be involved in handling freight, operating heavy equipment, and performing basic automotive repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment across designated routes within and surrounding areas
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs to ensure optimal operation
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Assist with the operation of heavy machinery or equipment as required for freight handling or site operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or automotive repair tools is preferred
- Prior experience in freight transportation or commercial driving is highly desirable
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to vehicle operation and freight handling
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary
- Physical ability to lift, move, or handle freight up to 50 pounds as required
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings in accordance with company policies
Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
