The Opportunity
Commodore Solutions Workplace Testing Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated, adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing occupational health team. In this versatile hybrid role, you will deliver critical occupational health and medical screening services both within our clinical facility and directly at client job sites through our mobile testing operations. You will serve as a trusted healthcare professional, ensuring workforce safety, regulatory medical compliance, and high-standard diagnostic testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Occupational Testing: Conduct nurse medical assessments, fit-for-work evaluations, musculoskeletal (MSK) baseline screenings, and visual acuity testing.
- Specialized Diagnostics: Perform DOT & non-DOT drug and alcohol (D&A) collections, audiometric screening, spirometry (pulmonary function testing), and quantitative respiratory mask fit testing (QNFT).
- Mobile & Onsite Service Delivery: Travel punctually to client sites and industrial locations using a reliable personal vehicle to deliver professional mobile testing services.
- Record Management & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain precise, objective, and secure medical records in accordance with the Alberta Health Information Act (HIA), Alberta OHS Code, and company quality protocols.
- After-Hours & On-Call Coverage: Participate in an equitable, paid rotational on-call schedule to support client emergency, turnaround, and post-incident testing needs during evening, weekend, or holiday windows.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Licensure: Active registration and in good standing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Clinical Experience: 1+ years of clinical nursing experience; prior background in occupational health, emergency, urgent care, or ambulatory care is strongly preferred.
- Education & Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Provider and First Aid certification. Willingness to complete company-sponsored certification across all workplace testing modalities.
- Pre-Employment Clearances: Successful completion of a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector search, if required).
- Mobility & Logistics: Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License, clean 3-year commercial/driver's abstract, and access to a reliable personal vehicle for mobile site visits.
- Flexibility & Reliability: Availability to participate in rotating after-hours and weekend call-out response.
