We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Valve Technician to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Valve Technician is responsible for inspecting, disassembling, repairing, assembling, testing, and documenting a wide variety of industrial valves. The successful candidate will work in a shop environment while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair gate, globe, ball, butterfly, and check valves control valves.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and measure valve components for wear or damage.
- Perform lapping, machining preparation, and component replacement as required.
- Assemble valves according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
- Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional testing.
- Complete inspection reports, repair documentation, and test records accurately.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, valve specifications, and work instructions.
- Operate shop equipment, hand tools, lifting devices, and testing equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist other departments when required.
Qualifications
- Experience repairing industrial valves is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read technical drawings and repair procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is considered an asset.
Pay: $17.59-$25.00 per hour
