Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 8-9 French Teacher to inspire students and foster a love for the French language and culture. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards, support diverse learning needs, and cultivate an inclusive classroom environment. Your enthusiasm for teaching and strong communication skills will motivate students to achieve their language learning goals while developing their confidence and cultural awareness.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver dynamic French lessons tailored to Grade 8-9 students, ensuring alignment with educational standards
- Assess student progress regularly through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support growth
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods and multimedia resources to enhance student engagement and understanding
- Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages participation, respect, and collaboration among students
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of learners with diverse backgrounds and learning styles, including those requiring special education support
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to monitor student progress and develop individualized learning plans when necessary
- Proofread and review instructional materials for accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching French at the middle or high school level, preferably within Grade 8-9 settings
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey language concepts and foster student interaction
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing skills for lesson planning, assessments, and student feedback
- Organizational skills essential for managing lesson plans, grading, and recordkeeping efficiently
- Experience tutoring or providing additional support to students learning French or requiring special education accommodations
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching foreign languages, including immersion techniques and culturally responsive pedagogy
