Position Overview
The Mortgage Relationship Manager is responsible for growing the size and profitability of G&F’s retail mortgage and lending book, while minimizing loan risk. The incumbent manages a portfolio of relationships by gathering external assets and acting on internal referrals, and contributes to the growth of all lines of G&F’s business. The incumbent works collaboratively with all credit union and subsidiary staff to proactively network, build relationships and seek business development opportunities with members and non-members to provide and promote a superior member experience.

Proactively develops business for G&F from a variety of sources with an aim to grow the mortgage and lending book and maintain positive and productive business relationships.
Grants mortgage, consumer loans and other lending products within approved lending limits; makes recommendations for higher approval or rejection of applications.
Seeks opportunities to collaborate and cross-sell other G&F products and refer members to sales partners, including retail banking, wealth management, insurance and small business/commercial services.
Ensures that assigned loan accounts operate as authorized and takes necessary actions to correct delinquencies and/or unsatisfactory conditions; conducts credit investigations and inspections as necessary to minimize G&F’s exposure to risk.
Actively promotes G&F through involvement in community groups, community events and business development opportunities.

Degree or diploma in finance, commerce or business administration
5 years’ experience in the financial industry with strong lending/credit adjudication experience.
Mortgage broker experience is an asset
Strong business acumen; understanding and knowledge of market trends and current economic environment
Demonstrated strength in sales and identifying opportunities for product cross-selling
Excellent relationship management abilities and sound judgment
Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate

The compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary as well as a variable component consisting of commission and bonus incentives, alongside our group benefits and RRSP plans.
