Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Carpenter Helper/Flooring Installer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting skilled carpenters and flooring installers in various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in construction work, a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to learn new skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in flooring installation, carpentry, and related trades.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and layout of flooring materials, including laminate, vinyl plank, engineered and other flooring types
- Support the installation of flooring, including cutting, measuring, and fitting materials according to project specifications
- Use hand tools such as saws, drills, hammers, and levels to aid in construction tasks
- Remove old flooring such a carpet, laminate and load into vehicle, clean and prep floors.
- Remove, clean and reinstall baseboards.
- Perform caulking on trim.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members
Requirements
- Prior experience with hand tools, construction sites, or handyman work is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential, will train.
- Basic knowledge of flooring installation techniques is a plus
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labour as required
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license
- Prior handyman experience or general construction background will be considered an asset

Pay: $18.00-$35.00 per hour
