Job Description
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for coordinating and supporting shipping, receiving, yard, and inventory activities involving large, oversized, and high-capacity materials, including oilfield casing and pipe. This role ensures materials are accurately received, safely handled, properly documented, and shipped on time while maintaining yard organization, inventory records, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The position also includes leading daily activities of shipping and receiving personnel and coordinating closely with manufacturing, customers, and carriers. This individual will be using the larger scale, outdoor forklift in the yard.
Responsibilities

Prepare, stage, load, and unload pipe and oversized materials using forklifts, loaders, and overhead cranes.

Supervise shipping and receiving personnel and assign daily work.

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including overseas containers and interfacility transfers.

Conduct receiving inspections to verify material condition, specifications, and documentation.

Maintain accurate pipe tallies, inventory records, cycle counts, and annual inventories using the Tally system.

Manage yard inventory, job allocations, completed production, and field inventory requests.

Prepare all outgoing shipping documentation and tallies.

Stack and unstack pipe in accordance with strict safety and handling procedures.

Maintain yard organization and update equipment logbooks and operating hours.

Respond to shipping discrepancies and service commitment issues in a timely manner.

Adhere to and promote a safety attitude, and follow health and safety policies.

Identify and support operational and process improvement initiatives.

Participate in training, safety meetings, and assist in other operational areas as required.
Essential Skills

Forklift operator certification.

Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 45 lbs; lift items weighing more than 45 lbs with assistance.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Proficient in written and spoken English to Grade 12 standard.

Work Environment
Located near Sunridge Mall in the industrial area, this role is transit accessible, making commuting convenient. The company manufactures oil and gas industry filtration systems, providing a unique and specialized work environment. You will be part of a team of up to 30 individuals, supporting the machine shop. The day shift runs from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
