Overview
We are looking for a hands-on accounting professional to take ownership of day-to-day accounting, billing, and financial operations in a growing business.
This role is ideal for someone with 4+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience who is comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and maintaining highly accurate, audit-ready financial records.
Important: This is not a clerical or data-entry role. This position requires judgment, accountability, and attention to detail in a documentation-heavy billing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping (Primary Focus):
- Manage daily banking and cash activity
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations (CAD & USD)
- Handle full-cycle accounts payable
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, including storage, handling, and tenant billing
Billing & Documentation (Critical Area):
- Work in a complex, detail-sensitive billing environment
- Ensure all invoices are supported by complete and traceable documentation
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and irregularities
Accuracy in billing directly impacts revenue — attention to detail is critical
Reporting & Finance:
- Generate reports and manage transactions using QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Support month-end close
- Assist with budgeting and P&L preparation
- Prepare and file HST returns
- Support ongoing financial reporting needs, include annual external audits
Operations Support:
- Coordinate with external vendors (IT, telecom, office services)
- Support day-to-day operational needs as required
Work Environment
This role operates with limited on-site supervision.
The successful candidate must manage deadlines independently, prioritize work effectively, and ensure accuracy without oversight.
This role is best suited to a highly self-directed and reliable individual.
Qualifications
Required:
- 4–7 years of accounting / full-cycle bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Strong bank reconciliations and billing experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to work independently and stay organized
- Experience maintaining supporting documentation for billing
Preferred:
- CPA (in progress or completed)
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, property/lease billing, or contract-based billing environments
