Position Summary:
The End Dump Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating an end dump truck to haul and deliver aggregates such as gravel, sand, topsoil, clay, and stone to various construction and excavation sites. The driver must follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures while ensuring materials are delivered on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate an end dump truck to transport aggregates from quarries, pits, and suppliers to job sites.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle in compliance with safety regulations.
- Safely load and unload materials, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure loads.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site supervisors, and customers.
- Complete daily driving logs and delivery tickets.
- Follow all municipal, provincial, and federal transportation laws and safety standards.
- Maintain a CLEAN, organized, and well-functioning vehicle.
- Report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or incidents immediately.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety, conduct, and professional performance.
Qualifications
- Valid Class AZ driver’s license.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of heavy vehicle driving experience preferred.
- Experience operating end dump trailers is an asset.
- Ability to operate manual or automatic transmissions.
- Strong understanding of load securement, weight limits, and end dump operations.
- Ability to read maps, GPS, and delivery instructions.
- Physically able to climb, lift, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
