The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University currently with over 22,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 25 Departments, Schools, and Colleges. With a student-focused commitment and reporting Sr. Director, Student Success & Retention the Manager, Petitions & Academic Integrity works with the applicable Associate Deans, in the areas of support, services, procedures and systems for academic integrity, petitions and student relations. Working closely with the Associate Dean, Students, the Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to enhance coordination and integration of activities to support student academic success and retention, and will manage student-related activities, such as the academic integrity and petitions processes. The Manager will also be responsible for the development and management of a robust administration program for all petitions and academic integrity. This will include ensuring alignment with the Faculty's retention management strategies and priorities, and the development of policies and procedures to ensure that all students have awareness of petition and academic integrity processes and guidelines to assist them in their time of need with the overall intent to support them in the completion of their university studies. The incumbent is responsible for managing the timely processing of petitions, and academic integrity and maintenance of these web application and database systems, and with the support of the Director and Associate Dean, for implementing and maintaining best practices on student petitions and academic integrity administration in Canada. This includes coordination and execution of all associated administration and communication of end results. In addition, the Manager supports the Associate Deans and Director, Faculty Council & Affairs with management and execution of all departmental administrative requirements, which includes but is not limited workflow management, presentations, generating reports, and record keeping. The Manager will support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and embrace diversity and foster inclusion.
An under-graduate degree in a relevant field preferably focused on public administration, management and/or policy, is required or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and progressive professional work and leadership experience.
4 years of experience in a fast-paced post-secondary environment leading the coordination of academic integrity and/or petitions processes and procedures. 2 years of Managerial or supervisory experience in unionized post-secondary environment is required. Experience with financial management and budgeting skills are also required. Previous exposure to, and understanding of, the complexities and diversities of a large University Faculty is also strongly preferred.
Knowledge of differing academic disciplines and programs, familiarity with differing standards and assessment practices among humanities, social sciences, and professional studies disciplines,

York implemented a revised CPM Compensation Framework in 2019. The Framework is a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
