Why is this role important?
The Registered Dietitian will interact with customers and the community at multiple store locations (time allocation at stores varies depending on customer needs) to both promote and provide nutrition & health education. The promotion and delivery can occur both online and in person.
This role will support 4 locations (primarily Edmonton/St Albert):
Brewery City Market - 12060 104 Ave NW, Edmonton
Pearson's Your Independent Grocer - 985 St Albert Trail, St. Albert
Hardy's Your Independent Grocer - 16 Superior St, Devon
Finney's Your Independent Grocer - 10852 100 St, Westlock
What you will Do:
Deliver customer centric education through a wide variety of activities including on-floor interactions, group store tours/events, online group workshops, one-on-one consultations (in person , virtual and over the phone) . Fees are associated with most activities .
Daily work to grow and maintain programs and se r vices to align with sales goals. This often involves making the first step in making and building connections internally and externally .
Be the Wellness Champion and take responsibility of all wellness programs in store, including working with store management to engage colleagues to execute the pro grams .
P artner with store departments/services that affect health promotion (i.e. pharmacy, medical clinics, cooking school, natura l value, fitness center ).
Support the growth and development of regional peers and national program .
Respond to customer inquiries .
Increase customer loyal ty and heal thier choice basket size.
What You'll Need:
R egistered Dietitian designation and membership with provincial colleague (in good standing) .
Pro fe ssional liability insurance .
S ales experience is an asset .
Social media experience and knowledge .
Experience in giving presentations and speaking to the publi c about health though various mediums (in person and virtual).
Able to work with a multi-dimensional health team, including traditional and non-trad itional medical practitioners .
Exceptional collaboration and t eam building skills to build relati onships with store colleagues and community partners to drive programs and services .
Strong written and oral communication skil l s .
Experience with food preparation, food service, ret ail or food industry an asset .
Able to work flexible hours, including at minimum two evenings per we ek and two weekends per month .
Knowledge of health food prod ucts and supp lements an asset .
