As a Farmer's Market, Tasting Room, and Event Representative, you will be responsible for representing Sheringham Distillery on Weekends at farmers' markets and at our Tasting Room, engaging with customers, and promoting our products. In addition to working the occasional event. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about local products, enjoy interacting with customers, and are looking for a flexible, casual/part-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick up and drop off stock at our distillery in Langford as required
- Set up and maintain an attractive booth display
- Engage with customers, provide product information, and promote sales
- Share Sheringham’s story and product knowledge with guests
- Cultivate a welcoming, premium tasting room environment
- Conduct product tastings and demonstrations
- Process sales transactions and handle cash using Square
- Keep accurate records of sales and inventory
- Clean equipment and kits before packing them away.
- Lead engaging tastings and distillery tours
- Ensure responsibility for the market and event kits to prevent the loss of any items.
- Maintain an active Serving it Right certificate.
Requirements:
- Valid BC Driver’s License and personal vehicle with valid insurance (with applicant's name on the insurance) that covers work purposes
- Valid Serving It Right Certification
- Available to work Saturdays and the occasional Sunday until October
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related field
- Enthusiastic and confident attitude; reliable, with a strong work ethic
- Able to prioritise multiple tasks and priorities
- Manages time proactively and efficiently
- Problem solves and makes decisions independently
- Displays a diplomatic customer-centred approach to resolving issues
- Quickly learns new skills and methods
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Able to lift and move 40 lbs continuously using proper technique
- Customer service experience - food and beverage or hospitality preferred
Compensation:
- $20-25 per hour (depending on what shift is being covered)
- Mileage covered for the market and the events where the employee is picking and dropping off products.
