Futures and Options (F&O) manages JP Morgan's global exchange traded futures and options brokerage business. F&O provides investors and hedgers access to exchange traded listed derivatives throughout the world. F&O acts solely as the clients agent on brokerage transactions, and never as principal. Services include:
Developing trade ideas and portfolio management strategies in derivative markets;
Identifying relative value between and among derivative and cash instruments;
Quantifying the risks and profit opportunities of trades involving futures and options;
Executing client trades for fixed income, money market, foreign exchange, commodity and equity-related futures and options on exchanges worldwide;
Clearing and settling futures and options transactions;
Posting the margins required by exchanges, using cash or securities in ways most convenient to the client ; and
Providing operational information about clients transactions in flexible and responsive electronic or paper format.
The Exchange Clearing group's primary responsibility is to provide an effective reconciliation and settlement service of exchange traded derivative products to both internal and external clients of JP Morgan. JP Morgan is a clearing member on over 60 Futures & Options exchanges globally.
This role is focused on derivative products which include Fixed Income Securities, Equities, FX & Oil, Gas, Metals, Metals and Agricultural products. It is helpful that the candidate has some knowledge of the majority of these markets. The Singapore Regional Operations Centre (ROC) will be JP Morgan's preferred hub for a wide range of operational support for our listed derivatives business.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Regional Exchange Clearing is performed in accordance with local regulatory requirements
To ensure all positions are maintained accurately both at the exchange and within the internal clearing system
All trade and position breaks are escalated and resolved on trade date + 1
All exercise and assignment notices are correctly processed as per the published deadlines
Be aware of the appropriate escalation procedures when issues are raised
Reviews and checks production output from a control aspect
Ensure processes are reviewed regularly and where possible make suggestions for greater efficiency
Ensure all procedures are kept up to date and easily accessible
Handle any ad hoc requests of the team in an appropriate manner
Skills and Qualifications:
F&O Knowledge (preferably of Asia markets knowledge would be an added advantage)
Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately, whilst remaining focused on 'the big picture'
Excellent Client focus and Customer care working practices
Flexible attitude towards working hours due to the demands of the working place
Strong intellectual curiosity for process improvements
Good written and verbal communication skills
Able to work accurately and effectively under pressure
Strong time management skills required to meet the many internal and external deadlines
Good PC skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to review and enhance processes is preferred
