The Asset:
The Karr Gas Plant is a key component of CSV Midstream’s gas processing network, strategically located approximately 70 km south of Grande Prairie. The facility supports regional natural gas production through safe, efficient, and reliable processing operations. The plant plays an important role in maximizing product recovery and ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance while supporting the long-term growth of CSV’s infrastructure platform in Alberta.
Overview:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing and managing maintenance programs and plans to ensure the efficient and effective operation of equipment and facilities at the Karr gas processing plant. This role involves coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, managing work order and maintenance tracking systems, establishing survey and inspection programs, and optimizing the utilization of maintenance resources. The Maintenance Planner also plays a key role in supporting turnaround activities, preparing maintenance budgets, monitoring costs, procurement, and providing regular reporting to operations management and procurement staff.
Please note that this is not a camp position. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Grande Prairie if not already living in the area.
Key Accountabilities:
The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler will be accountable for the following:
- Develop and implement maintenance programs and plans for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Manage the work order and maintenance tracking systems to ensure accurate recording and tracking of maintenance activities.
- Establish survey and inspection programs to identify maintenance requirements and prioritize work orders.
- Maximize the utilization of maintenance resources, including labor, equipment, and spare parts.
- Develop and implement a spare parts strategy to ensure availability and timely replenishment of critical components.
- Ensure timely resolution of warranty issues with equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
- Participate in the preparation of the maintenance budget, providing cost estimates for projects and monitoring costs against budget.
- Support turnaround activities by assisting in the development of critical path plans and budgets.
- Provide information for weekly and monthly reporting requirements, including maintenance performance metrics and key performance indicators.
- Maintain ongoing communication with operations management and procurement staff to coordinate maintenance activities and address any issues or concerns.
- Schedule and assign Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Work Orders (in house or 3rd party) based on priority set by operations.
- Work Order Closures - ensure calibration certifications and reports, Quality Control/Quality Assurance packages, Replace In Kind (RIK), Redlines etc. are correctly filed with completed Work Orders and Management of Changes.
- Create Preventative Maintenance based on regulatory and maintenance requirements.
- Responsible for data management for surface equipment (with the assistance of administration) including Material Transfers.
- Assist with Turnaround planning activities.
- Responsible to track all Corrective Work Orders that will require Turnaround or Outage.
- Manage the 5-year outlook for major overhauls of compressors, motors, and pumps.
- Coordinate with Engineers, Leads and Foreman to assist in executing Management of Change work.
- Schedule and assign Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Work Orders (in house or 3rd party) based on priority set by operations.
- Provide Management with guidance and suggestions on maintenance improvements.
- Review service reports and rectify any safety recalls or to ensure warranty is retained.
- Review, code, and approve maintenance invoices.
Working Conditions
This position is based at the Karr Gas plant, approximately 70km South of Grande Prairie. This position will work a 4 days on / 3 days off cycle, consisting of 10 hour shifts. The successful candidate will be local to the Grande Prairie area; please note this is not a camp position.
Education and Experience
- Related certification or education in Mechanical, Heavy Equipment Technician or Electrical Instrumentation would be considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving abstract
- Experience implementing Maximo or similar asset management software
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, preferably in a gas processing plant or similar industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles, including preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Experience with maintenance tracking systems and software, such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
