Children's Autism Services of Edmonton is seeking an enthusiastic full time Cleaner/Janitor to join our dynamic team with great benefits. This role will be scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner/Janitor to support the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our school and office environment. This is more than a custodial role—it's an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of our children, staff, and community.
In this essential position, you’ll ensure all spaces—from classrooms to restrooms to administrative offices—are clean, safe, and welcoming. You’ll also support light maintenance tasks and collaborate closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and broader operations team.
What You’ll Do
- Perform daily cleaning in classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and offices
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces and shared equipment
- Conduct light repairs (e.g., light bulbs, small fixtures, patchwork, painting)
- Support event setup, seasonal tasks, and emergency response
- Collaborate with staff to minimize disruption during school hours
- Ensure all spaces are safe and hazard-free for students and staff
- Assist with moving office furniture and boxes
- Shovel snow, mow lawns and other yardwork as required
What We’re Looking For
· Prior janitorial or custodial experience (school or institutional setting preferred)
· Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism
· Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
· Comfortable working around children in a school-facing environment
· Valid driver’s license required (travel between campuses required)
· Police Check with Vulnerable Sector check required
· Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in janitorial, general maintenance or other related field
- Proficient written and oral skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; desire to be helpful
- Attention to detail and self-motivated
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to vehicle, and ability to travel to different locations throughout Edmonton and area.
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Record check required prior to start date ( no less than 3 months old)
