We’re a fast paced, wedding heavy salon looking to grow our team. If you’re confident in color and cutting and love working with extensions, you’ll fit right in. We also offer makeup, so being well rounded or wanting to grow in that area is a big plus. We’re located in the Shops of Canmore with lots of other shops around, and we value work life balance with a flexible schedule that supports it.
We are seeking a talented and personable Hair Stylist to join our vibrant salon team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hair styling, excellent customer service skills, and a professional attitude. This role offers an opportunity to showcase creativity while providing clients with exceptional beauty experiences. The position involves working in a dynamic environment where teamwork and communication are key to success. Previous experience in hair styling, sanitation practices, and retail sales is highly valued. A friendly demeanor and strong communication skills will help foster lasting client relationships and promote salon services effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional hair styling services including cuts, color, treatments, and styling according to client preferences.
- Ensure all tools and workstations are maintained with high standards of sanitation and cleanliness.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by listening carefully to clients’ needs and offering expert advice on hair care options.
- Upsell salon products and additional services to enhance client satisfaction and increase sales.
- Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, checking in clients, and processing payments efficiently.
- Build strong client relationships through personalized consultations and follow-up care recommendations.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere within the salon environment.
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and product knowledge through ongoing education and training.
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology or barber license as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience in hair styling, including cutting, coloring, and styling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices for maintaining a clean work environment.
- Ability to upsell products and promote retail sales confidently.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage with clients professionally.
- Experience managing front desk operations or retail sales is a plus.
- A friendly, approachable personality with a passion for helping clients look and feel their best.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $15.58-$48.03 per hour
