The Opportunity
The Scientist will identify critical knowledge gaps, formulate comprehensive research strategies, and execute rigorous methodological and analytical steps. This role will help drive product innovation and optimize existing offerings. The candidate will possess advanced data analysis, technical writing expertise and seek to foster strategic partnerships within our industry.
Your Impact
- Support and manage Innovation and R&D projects, including the development of new products, services, or improvements to existing offerings.
- Design, develop, refine, and validate analytical and experimental methodologies as required.
- Conduct chemical, biological, and microbiological laboratory experiments, and contribute to pilot testing and manufacturing scale-up activities.
- Develop and support robust formulations, processes, and application stability by understanding processing and end-use requirements.
- Review scientific literature, patents, and technical reports to identify knowledge gaps and inform on project strategy and innovation development.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and internal presentations to communicate research findings and project progress.
- Support grant writing and management, including technical justifications and reporting activities.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and visualize experimental and process data using statistical and scientific software tools, and prepare clear technical summaries and presentations.
- Perform other general laboratory and research support duties in support of business needs.
Your Experience, Skills, & Education
- MSc or Ph.D. in chemistry, biology, food science or a related scientific discipline.
- 1 to 5 years working experience in a laboratory and/or research environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with various instruments used in food and agricultural chemistry analysis is preferred.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), including method proficiency, data logging, report generation and other aspects of GLP.
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a priority-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (e.g. Google Docs and Sheets) will be an asset.
- Ability to give and receive feedback.
- Ability to work both in a team as well as independently.
