About the Role
Hale Coffee Company, a growing specialty coffee business with 4 retail locations (5th on the way), a wholesale program, an e-commerce platform, and a dedicated team of 40 employees, is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join us as the Senior Manager of Retail Operations. As we have expanded our footprint and enhanced our brand, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Retail Operations to lead our retail operations, grow our brand, and help us bring exceptional coffee experiences to life.
As the Senior Manager, Retail Operations at Hale Coffee, you will start hands-on, managing one of our locations from the ground level, interacting directly with customers and leading the team to improve its end-to-end operation. In the first 3-5 months, you’ll build out a strong team, hire a new manager to take over day-to-day responsibilities, and then transition to setting up and managing our brand-new location.
Once the new location is fully operational, you’ll step into a District Manager role, overseeing the performance of all Hale Coffee retail locations. This role is a key growth opportunity, with the potential to transition into a General Manager role, taking on full leadership of the company’s retail operations in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees, directs, and controls all business retail operations for Hale Coffee Company
- Manage day-to-day operations of all cafe locations, ensuring excellence in customer service and product quality, at any scale of the business:
- From fixing a heater or a drain, to hiring and training, to owning the store’s P&L. If this deterred you, this role is not for you. We need someone who is not afraid of rolling up their sleeves when needed
- Manage multiple teams
- Oversee the recruitment, training, development, and retention of top talent

Experience
- 3+ years in leadership and people management in the Specialty Coffee Industry
- Previous Cafe manager, Barista and customer service experience is required
- Retail Operations and Store Management skills are required
- Experience working with budgets, financials and high level reporting
- Experience of the coffee retail. Wholesale and e-commerce is a plus
- Experience interpreting financial statements and preparing budgets
Work Location
In person, on site and across all locations as needed.

Pay: $23.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
