Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and welding tasks.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to join metals with precision and quality.
- Use plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble metal parts.
- Conduct rigging operations safely when moving heavy components or assemblies using cranes or forklifts.
- Measure materials accurately with calipers, tape measures, and other measuring devices; perform basic math calculations for dimensions and tolerances.
- Fabricate ductwork, structural components, or custom assemblies according to project requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding (MIG and TIG) with a strong understanding of fabrication processes.
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, cranes, forklifts, and machining tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and basic math skills necessary for precise measurements.
- Construction or manufacturing experience is highly desirable; experience with ductwork or assembly projects is a plus.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques for lifting heavy materials safely using cranes or hoists.
- Valid certifications in welding (preferred), rigging, or operating machinery are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
