Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support early childhood education standards and individual learning needs
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and social-emotional growth
- Support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or assistance with disabilities
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists in both English and French to ensure clear understanding and collaboration
- Use computer skills to maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones
- Lead classroom activities that promote cognitive, physical, and social development while managing time efficiently to maximize learning opportunities
- Collaborate with team members to organize educational events, parent meetings, and community engagement initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings or similar environments
- Knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood education principles, and special education strategies
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable to support diverse families and enhance communication
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities within the classroom setting
- Ability to operate computers proficiently for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is preferred
- Excellent time management skills coupled with leadership qualities to guide classroom activities confidently
