What You'll Do
As a Skilled Labourer, you will be responsible for the setup and production of precast wall panels and other wetcast products, including formwork assembly, installation of lifting and connection hardware, reinforcement cage placement, and quality inspections. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in concrete production and finishing, with related trade experience such as carpentry or construction considered a valuable asset.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive and interpret verbal and written instructions to complete assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in accordance with production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to accurately set up precast products to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform wall panel and precast product setup while maintaining production schedules and adhering to quality, curing, handling, and shipping requirements.
- Assemble and prepare forms, embedded components, lifting hardware, connection hardware, and reinforcement cages for concrete placement.
- Transport raw materials, equipment, and finished products throughout the plant and yard using manual and powered material-handling equipment.
- Place, vibrate, screed, and finish concrete to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
- Support production teams by assisting form assemblers, casting crews, finishing crews, and other plant personnel as required.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain molds, tools, equipment, and work areas to promote safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate leadership, mentorship, and teamwork by supporting less experienced employees and contributing to a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in precast concrete manufacturing, concrete construction, formwork, carpentry, or a related skilled trade.
- Experience setting up precast wall panels, formwork, embedded hardware, and reinforcing steel cages.
Competencies:

- Strong attendance, punctuality, and self-motivation.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
