Hourly Rate: $19.00 + depending on skills and experience
Job Duties: Installing sheet metal in a Commercial setting, work may involve any of the following:
- Use hand and power shears and snips, and light metal-working equipment to cut, drill, punch, bend, and shape sheet metal.
- Fasten components together with bolts, screws, rivets, adhesives.
- Install air handling equipment, furnaces, fans, Air handlers, MUA, RTU.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install, sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, Spiral pipes of all sizes up to 36”.
- Placement of new Equipment on roof over curbs.
- Install prefabricated sheet metal ducts used for heating, air conditioning, or other purposes.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers’ requirements.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in HVAC is an asset.
- Proven experience in residential sheet metal work or a related field. *Please apply if you are looking to begin your apprenticeship but have no experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in the sheet metal industry.
Other required qualifications:
- Valid class 5 drivers license with a clean commercial driving record
- WHMIS
- CSTS
- Own basic hand tools
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work in a fast paced and independent environment
