Redwater & Ft. Saskatchewan Procurement Manager reports to Regional Procurement Manager Canada who reports to the Director Procurement Nitrogen.

What you will do:
Strategy and Planning:
Recommend targets for volume reduction, cost savings, service levels and supplier management approach at the Site level
Recommend resource levels across procurement sourcing categories/commodities, projects and functions based on strategic plan priorities
Present category/commodity specific strategies and work plans for approval by BU Procurement Director and/or BU Regional Procurement Manager. These procurement strategies will serve as a primary input into the Procurement annual budget planning and KPIs.
Deploy and direct Site Procurement Buyers to support strategic analyses and coordinate initiatives
Oversee category strategy execution, in areas such as: manage Site’s internal customer needs; perform market research; manage end-to-end S2C, P2P and supplier selection process; support migration to new suppliers together with Category Managers; monitor supplier compliance and overall performance; monitor Site internal customer feedback and KPIs; communicate Procurement performance to key Site stakeholders; identify process improvement opportunities and adopt best practices; manage site-level budget and track performance vs. plan and drive cost management and supply chain optimization achievement of Site’s General Manager goals/targets

Manage Site Procurement & Warehouse Teams:
Ensure Buyer/end user compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls
Coach and support the development of Site Procurement and Warehouse personnel and act as a role model to the team. Evaluate (and enhance as necessary) Nutrien’s Site Procurement talent profile

Technical Performance:
Develop key KPI’s (goals & objectives) aligned to Corporate Procurement and Site’s goals & objectives
Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s) with suppliers, establishing KPI’s and best practices
Establish cross-functional teams to deliver category strategies initiatives to generate value
Understanding of eProcurement Systems and Material Master Data tools and SAP/Ariba/SparesFinder
Guide the identification of proper and justifiable reorder points and reorder quantities to maintain optimal working capital levels to support the needs of Maintenance and Operations
Business/Operational Impact and Decisions
Provide procurement support on project and cross functional teams as required
Demonstrate a strong initiative, work ethic, and dedication to constructing and executing best-in-class procurement strategies and plans
Develop a network of contacts throughout the manufacturing sites to efficiently process/validate information. The incumbent will need to address competing priorities and different barriers
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Proficient in synthesizing apparently unrelated ideas to identify the optimal solution or to develop a coherent plan or vision.
Tools and processes will be in place to provide support required from Center of Excellence Team

Policy, Process and Procedures:
Have a strong understanding of and implement Procurement Policies, Processes and Procedures

Customer Focus:
Work closely with peers (Category Managers, COE Group, Nutrient & Corporate Leads, Site General Manager and Site’s Leadership Team to ensure procurement effectiveness and efficiency are in place while maintaining flawless operations
Interacting with internal customers to understand their needs and enabling/support functions

What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA/Master’s degree preferred in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field
Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement (SCMP/CPSM), Inventory Management (CIPS), Lean / Six Sigma, or Operational Planning preferred, but not required
Minimum 6+ years relevant experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management
Experience with major categories such as: MRO, Electrical & Instrumentation, Pump, PVF (Pipes, Valves, Fittings), etc.
Broad experience in supply chain, S2C and P2P processes and tools, spend analytics, category strategy development and implementation, competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations & contract execution, supplier relationship & contract management and supplier risk management
Lead contract commercial negotiations with suppliers
Engage Legal, Insurance, Treasury, EH&S and other for the negotiation and vetting of contractual terms
Proven track record of cost reduction through category strategies and contract negotiations
Results-driven mindset and capabilities
Motivated, high-energy and self-starter business mindset; proven change agent with excellent facilitation and problem-solving skills and flexibility to direct and re-direct change
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience in procurement transformation and change within an operating site setting
Deep familiarity with the Microsoft office suite and other analytical software
Strong analytical capabilities
Clear and solid understanding of SAP, Ariba, Analysis & Reports, data management tools and eProcurement
High degree of ethics, discretion, honesty, fairness, and sound business practices to secure and maintain Nutrien’s reputation in the market
Create a positive, collaborative working environment for the team
High degree of independence while balancing highly collaborative relationships with core stakeholders
Travel as needed (at times internationally). Travel at times may exceed ~20%
