The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is responsible for public education in the rural settings of Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog Townships and the urban settings of Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa.
The Board employs 7,600 teaching and educational services staff. With 132 elementary and secondary schools and learning centres, the Board accommodates more than 70,000 regular day students and thousands more who take advantage of a wide variety of continuing education and adult credit courses.

Being on the supply list at DDSB provides you the opportunity to explore and expand your skills in different assignments at the school level or board office. As a supply employee you are employed by the board. We will place you with an assignment that needs a temporary employee to do a specific job for a specific length of time. The commitment could be for a day, weeks or months. You work to cover employee absences, support peak workloads or contribute to special projects. When one assignment is done you move to another one which may be the same or a different location.

Major Duties:
1. Provide clerical/administrative support to Elementary Schools, Secondary Schools, Education Centre and Maintenance Centre. Job duties and responsibilities will vary by assignment and will be assigned by the supervisor of the assignment.

Grade 12 OSSD or equivalent
Six months to one year related experience (Bookkeeping/Accounting, Database Management training and experience an asset.)
Customer Service Skills
Excellent telephone, presentation, organizational and computer skills are essential
Ability to work with constant interruptions and to meet deadlines
Availability to accept assignments on a casual basis during the day and with short notice (flexible availability)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Outlook
