MUST HAVE LAW FIRM ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE - Soluno software
This is a bi-weekly/ monthly regulatory oversight ongoing contract position
Three lawyer litigation law firm located in downtown Vancouver. We currently do have a day-to-day bookkeeper. We are looking to have a second bookkeeper for segregation of tasks to handle monthly regulatory aspects of our accounting. This position requires experience with full-cycle law firm accounting practices; a contractor capable of taking on monthly or bi-weekly oversight with account reconciliations, PST GST, bank or Law Society reporting, payroll reporting etc. This position is HYBRID: remote capable but does require at least one in-office visit per month. We will encourage both in-person and remote interactions with the our accounting team and management. Some interactions may be booked for time mutually agreeable with our current bookkeeper outside of regular office hours. The expectation is likely about 5-10 hours/ month at present.

Pay Terms/ Work Environment
This position is contract (if you operate your own business). Pay is negotiable based on experience and scope of work.
Responsibilities Include
- Processing Payroll semi-monthly with payment to external contractor
- Manage A/R postings and investigations
- Manage reconciliations on several bank accounts and sub accounts (ie. general, disbursement, trust, AR/AP, annual trust reporting)
- GST/PST/EHT government filings
- Manage any NSF cheques, returned items, direct deposits, service charges etc.
- Manage credit card payments
- WIP reviews and Bank report if needed
- Manage tax account and payments
- Year end statements for external auditor/ accountants
Qualifications
- Post -Secondary Education in Accounting
- Minimum 3 years experience in full-cycle general accounting; experience in Law firm Accounting is essential - 1 year
- MS Office (Excel) and knowledge of accounting software (PC Law experience desired - although we have transitioning to a cloud based Soluno system)
- Strong computer technical skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- You are self motivated, organized, and independent
- Ability to recognize gaps in knowledge with a desire to learn
- Ability to prioritize multiple or conflicting demands
Job Schedule Type: Monthly/ Biweekly part time casual contract, Flexible Hours compatible with other responsibilities
Salary: $35.00-$45.00 per hour; negotiable
