The role

We are seeking a Key Account Sales Executive with a passion for Pets and one who can share in our mission of strengthening the bond between all pets and their families by developing innovative, trustworthy, and affordable products!

The Key Account Sales Executive is responsible for growing profitable Hartz category volume through the effective management of brand/product strategies, trade spend, and pricing. They will maintain a close and collaborative relationship with the Walmart Buying/Procurement Team. They will establish themselves as an industry expert who delivers fact-based consumer, product, or market insights, which identifies and drives new sales opportunities. This position is located at our Toronto, Ontario Sales office.

What you will do
Develop, monitor and continually revise Walmart’s annual business plan to achieve forecasted sales volume targets within approved funding budget.
Analyze point of sale (retail link) and other sales data; communicate trends and insights and risks via weekly performance reports to Hartz internal teams, and to Walmart buyers on a weekly basis. Use data to update and adjust the customer business plan.
Ensure focus on in-stocks and weekly communication with Walmart supply chain team and Hartz Planners, adjusting forecasts as required to insure product availability and targets are achieved.
Identify opportunities for bi-annual Modular reviews on an ongoing basis building a selling story to secure new business as well as increase existing distribution across all categories. Work with Hartz Customer Planning and Marketing to support this effort and to insure effective execution on new item launches.
Achieve Billed Sales targets for overall territory, customer and category within approved spending.
Maintain a close relationship with key stake holders at Walmart (i.e. buying, marketing, ecommerce and replenishment functions). Understand and communicate Walmart strategies (goals) to the internal team.
Conduct regular monthly calls with the Walmart buying and supply chain teams reviewing performance to plan with recommended adjustments.
Secure distribution, pricing, promotion and shelf positioning objectives (brand strategies) by item/category for Walmart.
Ensure retail, margins and promotions fall within published brand strategy for all items and categories, including proper shelf position.
Forecasting customer events as required.
Manage effectively the administrative responsibilities, including price change forms, deductions and selling and planning schedules.
Attend industry, customer events, trade events and company sales/marketing meetings.
Establish and maintain effective cross functional relationships with Customer Planning and Brand Teams.
What you will bring
University Degree, preferably in Business or Marketing.
5+ years of progressive consumer packaged goods (CPG) key account management, preferably with Walmart in a direct sales role.
Understanding of category management, fact-based selling techniques (point of sale, syndicated data analysis, etc.). Ability to develop, create and present this information in a compelling fashion from the ground up.
Proficiency in Retail Link, Excel, Word and Power Point software.
