Automotive Apprentice Technician

Pay: $22.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on apprenticeship level, experience, technical ability, and demonstrated performance.

Bill & Walter’s Garage Ltd. is a family-owned independent automotive repair shop that has proudly served the Burnaby community since 1956. We are known for honest service, quality workmanship, and long-term customer relationships.
We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated Automotive Apprentice Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills while working alongside experienced automotive professionals in a busy, established repair shop.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections, maintenance, and general repairs.
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
- Complete oil changes, brake repairs, tire service, and fluid maintenance.
- Assist with steering, suspension, cooling system, and other automotive repairs.
- Use diagnostic equipment and service information correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
- Communicate clearly with technicians and service advisors.
Qualifications
- Registered Automotive Apprentice in British Columbia preferred.
- Level 2 or higher is preferred; strong Level 1 candidates with hands-on shop experience will also be considered.
- Previous professional automotive shop experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair procedures.
- Experience with brakes, steering, and suspension is an asset.
- Wheel alignment and A/C service experience is an asset.
- Must have basic personal tools.
- Valid BC driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and willing to learn.
- Able to work independently when appropriate and follow instructions carefully.

Schedule
Full-time availability is required. Saturday availability may occasionally be needed.
