New West Mill Installation is an established CWB certified industrial fabrication shop, located in Kelowna, BC. We specialize in manufacturing top quality pulp/paper and sawmill equipment, structural steel, and custom metal fabrications in various application for the past 35 years. Our fabrication facility is fully equipped with functional state of the art welding and material handling equipment.
We are currently looking for a positive, reliable, self-driven Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to cut, shape, and assemble metal pieces and structural steel according to precise specifications, using various welding techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications and assembly instructions.
- Fit up and tack weld components into position, verifying dimensional accuracy and squareness, before welding metal components using flux core and metal core techniques.
- Grind, dress, and finish weld surface to meet visual, dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and appearance.
- Inspect welds ensure structural soundness and compliance with industry standard.
- Experience with hand tools and stationary tools, such as grinders, drills, chop saws, etc.
- Operate OH Cranes (training will be provided) and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean neat and tidy work environment.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a work safe enivronment.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Metal Core welding experience.
- Level C and/or B Welding ticket (Advantageous)
- 2-3 years of work experience in the fabrication/manufacturing industry preferred.
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
