Inner City Diesel Ltd. (ICD) is excited to announce we are seeking an additional dedicated and detail-oriented Parts Technician to join our team. The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday. Applicants MUST BE local to Fort McMurray and have a reliable vehicle for the daily commute to our shop at 181 Robertson Road.
The successful candidate will work closely with our current Parts Technicians and have strong skills with parts and purchase order systems.

Responsibilities
- Full cycle parts ordering, ensuring accuracy, charging on shop work orders, receiving orders, putting parts orders away, etc.
- Maintain computerized customer profile information and monitor customer records for servicing and appointments
- Develop cost estimates and update price lists and catalogues
- Take orders from customer, give Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), and log needed parts and time for repairs
- Ensure back ordered parts are delivered in a timely manner and notify the appropriate individuals of the process and/or timeline(s)
- Source and negotiate with vendors to secure the best prices and quality for parts.
- Utilize electronic system to track inventory levels, manage part orders, track consignment and core parts, and maintain accurate records of parts inventory, orders, and transactions.
- Convey all necessary information regarding costs, parts, work, and technicians to the customers and management
- Organize and ship exchange parts and returns
- Prepare repair instructions and lists of needed replacement parts to the Service Technicians
- Additional duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Journeyperson or Red Seal Parts Technician, or equivalent parts person experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical specifications of parts
- Minimum of 3 years with parts and purchasing systems
- Comprehensive experience with Heavy Duty equipment parts and accessories
- Proven inventory management experience
- Proficient in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring parts efficiently

Successful candidates must have following prior to confirmation of their start date:
- Comprehensive alcohol and drug test clearance letter
- Copy of valid Class 5 (or greater) driver’s license
- Copy of current 3-year clean driver’s abstract
- Copies of safety and training certificates

This includes, but is not limited to, following Safe Work practices and procedures, attending safety meetings and toolbox talks, understanding and navigating our digital safety application (SiteDocs), completing FLRA’s, using PPE, inspection of vehicles, tools, and equipment, and more.
