Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Flat Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining flat roofing systems on commercial and residential buildings. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong understanding of roofing techniques to ensure durable and weather-resistant roofs. The Flat Roofer will work closely with project managers and other construction professionals to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain flat roofing systems using various materials such as membrane, tar, or asphalt.
- Measure and cut roofing materials accurately according to blueprints and project specifications.
- Use hand tools such as hammers, trowels, and caulking guns to secure roofing components.
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely throughout the workday.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure proper installation procedures.
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and insulation integrity.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to verify quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, roofing, or carpentry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hand tools, caulking, heavy lifting, and general handyman skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and working at heights.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Prior experience with roofing materials such as membrane or asphalt preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for job site access and material transportation.
- Attended Flat roofing schooling a plus
